Reflection, according to Webster’s, is careful consideration,
study, thinking. It is also the return of light, an image,
a counterpart. Infrared images are reflected light, and these
are reflections of a more innocent world, reflections of how
life may have been hundreds and even thousands of years ago
and still may be, reflecting the power of the ‘forever.’ These
reflections, reminders, can also goad us into action to preserve
and conserve the best of our natural and man-made world.
Viewing infrared images, reflected light, is a different
way of seeing the familiar, and perhaps taking a moment to
reflect on what life might have been or may still be if we
act.
