Wild orchids, mere plants, open a door into wilderness, and
for me, it is a door into a parallel universe, a time of no-time
where my spirit can soar. As orchids unveil their secrets and
those of the wild places where they live, I am transformed.
I am not only at one with the land and water and sky, I am also
at peace with myself, strong and serene. These elusive beauties
and the mystique surrounding them reconnect me with my youth
and freedom. Exploration of the outer world takes on a deeper
meaning if it also pushes us to explore our inner world. In
my photographs and in my writing, I try to move beyond the confines
of perfect focus and into the realm of the spirit. These images
are all deeply personal and represent huge pieces of my own soul.
Life – its exuberance – is central to my being and I want to
share my awe with those who care to see. Take an orchid home,
or give it as a gift. It will last forever.
